Since 2002, our mission has been simple: to provide a training space where riders can progress quickly, train in reliable conditions, and feel part of a welcoming community. What began on the shores of Andalusia has grown into one of Europe’s leading destinations for high-performance watersports coaching.
For over 20 years, we’ve proudly worked with national teams, elite athletes, rising stars, beginners, families and holiday-seekers — all connected by a shared love for the water. Matt Southam
Owner
Matt owner of Xtreme Gene Waterski & Wakeboard and the driving force behind its reputation as Europe’s most popular waterski and wake camp. A world-class skier and coach, Matt has spent decades on the water, coaching everyone from complete beginners to national team athletes and pros. Known for his technical eye, calm coaching style and passion for the sport, he makes sure every set is focused, fun and tailored to each skier’s goals – whether it’s running the course or fine-tuning for tournaments.
Debbie Southam
Owner
Debbie is the heart of Xtreme Gene Waterski & Wakeboard, leading the school’s marketing and shaping the guest experience that keeps people returning year after year. With an eye for detail and a natural talent for hospitality, she ensures every guest feels welcomed, supported, and part of the Xtreme Gene family from the moment they arrive. Debbie oversees all communication, branding, and onsite experience, creating the warm, friendly atmosphere the school is known for.
Ollie Loder
Wakeboard and Waksurf Coach
Olli is a highly experienced wakeboard and wakesurf coach, now heading into his sixth season at Xtreme Gene. With seven years on Team GB Wakeboard and two on Team GB Wakesurf, he brings a strong background shaped by riding and competing alongside top athletes around the world.
Known for his calm, clear approach, Olli coaches riders of all levels—from beginners learning the basics to advanced riders chasing serious progression. He’s travelled globally to train and compete, giving him a deep understanding of modern technique and what it takes to ride at a high level.
Toby Roberts
Waterski Coach
Toby first came to Xtreme Gene as a young client and has grown into a technically skilled and dedicated waterski coach. An experienced short-line skier under the guidance of Matt Southam, Toby is calm, patient, and highly observant, he’s excellent at breaking down each skier’s needs and helping them progress with confidence. Toby’s journey from guest to coach embodies the Xtreme Gene spirit — passion, commitment, and a love for the sport.
Brodie
Wakeboard Coach
At just 20 years old, Brodie brings over a decade of experience on the water. Having started wakeboarding at the age of 6, he’s now a proud member of the Irish national team, currently ranked 3rd in Ireland and 15th in Europe. As a wakeboard and wakesurf coach here at Xtreme Gene, Brodie combines his competitive skill with a relaxed, fun teaching style—whether you’re landing your first tricks or pushing for the next level, he’ll help you make it happen.
Ellie Mountfort

Ellie Mountfort has been part of the Xtreme Gene family since she was a kid, first as a regular guest and now as a valued permanent member of our team. Having worked with us for a few years, she knows the place inside out! From handling your reservation to cooking your meals and making sure everything runs smoothly during your stay, Ellie’s friendly smile and attention to detail help make every guest feel right at home.
Noelia Arroyo-Martin

Noelia is a key part of the team, supporting the smooth running of the office, accounts, and overall guest experience. Organised, reliable, and always ready to help, she handles day-to-day administration, enquiries, and financial processes with efficiency and care. Noelia is often one of the first points of contact for guests, ensuring they feel informed, welcomed, and well looked after from the moment they reach out. Her attention to detail and friendly approach help keep Xtreme Gene running effortlessly behind the scenes.
Inma Moreno-Munoz
Kitchen & Housekeeping Manager
Inma Moreno-Munoz is the powerhouse behind Xtreme Gene’s freshly prepared meals and spotless accommodation. As Kitchen & Housekeeping Manager, she oversees all food preparation, cabin cleanliness, and bar support with exceptional care and consistency. Known for her amazing home-cooked dishes, attention to detail, and warm, friendly nature, Inma ensures every guest feels comfortable, well-fed, and completely at home. Her hard work keeps the cabins pristine, the kitchen running smoothly, and the overall guest experience at the highest level — making her an essential part of the Xtreme Gene family.
Guti Casado
Maintenance Manager
Guti Casado ensures the smooth day-to-day running of Xtreme Gene. As Maintenance Manager, he looks after everything from boat servicing to cabin repairs and general site upkeep, keeping the resort safe, tidy, and functioning at its best. With his reliability, practical skills, and attention to detail, Guti helps maintain the high standards that make Xtreme Gene a great place for guests and staff alike.
