Matthew Southam

Title: Ski Manager & Head Ski Coach

Matthew has immense respect in the skiing world and is a professional instructor who is internationally renowned. He teaches various National Teams in all disciplines and competes and coaches alongside the world’s best skiers. With a current PB of 2 buoys at 10.25 meters.
Matthew started skiing at the age of 8 and went on to become a member of the British Water Ski Team at the age of 10. His achievements are many with numerous national titles at junior and senior levels and have previously gained him a ranking of 7th in the World.
Matthews’s popularity is due to his relaxed and patient coaching style and he is happy coaching all levels from beginners to pros. He also speaks fluent Spanish for our Spanish skiers.

Andres Alijo

Title: Wakeboard Manager & Head Coach

Nationally renowned Spanish rider and coach who is rapidly gaining respect throughout Europe for being a great coach for all levels of riders. With a no nonsense, thorough approach. Andres originally from Seville is fluent in English and can be relied on to add humor to any day. Andres is also a qualified Physiotherapist.

Greg Perry

After monthly visits over the past few years Greg joined the team full time in 2007. Greg is a very accomplished skier himself and now in his 18th season coaching around the world he is a great addition to the excellent coaching at Xtreme Gene.

George Mayling

Title: Waterski Coach

George started competing at the age of 9 and became a British Team Squad Skier at the age of 11 competing at European and World level every year since. George is currently the Under 21 National Champion and also holds the under 12 and under 17 records. George has spent the last 3 years working at some of the top schools in the States and in the UK. George is already a familiar face with many and with his experience, relaxed style and good sense of humor will be a great addition on and off the water

Jamie Motais Oliver

Title: Wakeboard Coach

Jamie although born in UK he has lived in Spain most of his life and his parents are from France and Uk so as well as his accomplished riding he speaks 3 languages! He lives in Spain full time (when not competing around the world) and rides and coaches here at Xtreme Gene. Jamie is a well known and well liked Pro whose most recent titles include; Spanish champion 02,03,04,07,08, 5th King of cable 2007, 2nd Fiat FIse 2008, 2nd Wake n`Beach 08.
It is great for Xtreme Gene to have such a great rider working with them and great for the guys to have someone too take their money most nights over a game of poker! Sponsors include : Reef, Moomba, New Schnitzel, F.A.W.E.N

Marc Rossiter

Title : Part Time Pro Wakeboard Coach

Mark started competing in 1998 and since then has won too many titles to mention with his most recent being 1st in South Africa at the Europeans. Mark is a World Class rider and great coach. David Cotes

Title : Wakeboard Coach

David started competing and in 2004 and from ’05 has been a top 3 rider in Ireland since then and is the ’09 Irish national champion. He began competing internationally at the IWSF world championships ‘07. In ’08 he won the wakestock Open men division and coached at Boardalign wakeboard camp in South Africa during the winter months between ’08 and ’09. At the ’09 world championships he narrowly missed out on a top 8 finish. He also finished 3rd at the relentless Glassbutter beach rail event in Wales ’09. Always available for friendly banter and wakeboard advice, he has coached the likes of Sian Hurst to gain 2nd at the IWSF worlds ’07 and Paul Johnston to gain 2nd at EAME ’09 both in Junior divisions. Matt Crowhurst has been an important part of the team from day one at Xtreme Gene, although due to competition commitments he can only be here part time, hence please see news section on web site to find out his dates in Spain. Matt Crowhurst is a professional rider and coach with numerous European titles. While Matt is here he spends the days providing Professional coaching to all levels and the nights in the numerous bars & local club reeking havoc!

Debbie Southam

Debbie is responsible for all day to day running of the company and all administration. She is the person that will make all booking arrangements for you to ensure your trip organization goes smoothly. In life before moving to Spain Debbie worked in the entertainment side of “Bacardi” so can always be relied on to make sure your holidays includes lots of night life!

Gill Jehu

Gill having moved to Spain to escape the UK weather now works part time with the team. Although her official role is that of accounts and administration she is a well-known face at the site and always willing to help with any queries you may have. Gill is renowned for her fantastic culinary skills should you be lucky enough to sample her cooking. She is also mainly seen socializing in town with our customers and responsible for many a hangover the following day!!!

Samantha Johnson (Sam)

Sam joined the team in 2007 and we do not know how we survived before? Sam is responsible for the bar, cabins and all accommodation ensuring you have everything you require and all is clean and perfect for your stay. Sam has lived in Spain for many years now so is also fluent in Spanish.

Tonto: Security

Cybil

Cybil is probably the best known and most loved member of the team. She provides constant affection for all and is a great listener should you want to share your life’s problems or just tell how well you skied / ride when no one else will listen !
